This page explains which cookies the site uses and how you control them.
What a cookie is
A small text file saved in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work. Others need your consent first.
Cookies we use
Our own site sets these cookies:
- pll_language (Polylang, functional): remembers which language you have chosen. Lasts 1 year.
- cmplz_banner-status (Complianz, functional): remembers that you have answered the cookie banner. Lasts 1 year.
- cmplz_policy_id (Complianz, functional): records which version of this policy you agreed to. Lasts 1 year.
- cmplz_consented_services (Complianz, functional): remembers which services you have allowed, like the map and the video. Lasts 1 year.
- cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences and cmplz_statistics (Complianz, functional): remember your choice for each cookie category. Lasts 1 year.
- cmplz_marketing (Complianz, functional): remembers if you have allowed marketing content like the map and the video. Lasts 1 year.
- __cf_bm (Cloudflare, functional): protects the site from harmful traffic. Lasts 30 minutes.
- wpEmojiSettingsSupports (WordPress, functional): checks which emoji your browser can show. Saved in your browser’s session storage, not as a cookie, and removed when you close the tab.
Cookies from others
The map on our pages comes from Google Maps. It only loads after you click it. When it loads, Google may set cookies and receives your IP address. Google’s own privacy policy applies.
The video on the About us page comes from YouTube (Google). It only loads once you have allowed marketing content. When it loads, Google receives your IP address, and YouTube sets these cookies:
- VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE (YouTube, marketing): estimates your bandwidth for the video. Lasts 180 days.
- VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA (YouTube, marketing): set by YouTube when the video loads. Lasts 180 days.
- YSC (YouTube, marketing): gives your view an ID for video statistics. Removed when you close the browser.
- __Secure-ROLLOUT_TOKEN (YouTube, marketing): YouTube uses it to launch new features and measure their effect. Lasts 180 days.
- __Secure-YNID (YouTube, marketing): remembers your settings, helps YouTube find and fix problems, and is used for statistics and, depending on your Google ad settings, advertising. Lasts 180 days.
- test_cookie (doubleclick.net, Google, marketing): checks whether your browser allows cookies. Lasts 15 minutes.
YouTube also saves player settings in your browser’s local storage, not as cookies: ytidb::LAST_RESULT_ENTRY_KEY, yt-player-caption-persistence, yt-player-bandwidth and yt-icons-last-purged. They stay until you clear them.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them won’t stop our site from working, but the map and the video may not load. You can change your cookie choices at any time under Cookie settings.
